Alternative Indie R&B Singer/songwriter

CEC

About

Familiar as an old friend. comfortable as a memory. unexpected as a dream. CEC balances the lines of contemporary RnB and singer-songwriter while writing in both English and Spanish. The Treaty One-based artist and producer is heavily influenced by the work of 70s soul artists such as Al Green and Curtis Mayfield, and more contemporary artists such as Frank Ocean, Lianne La Havas, and Matt Corby.

They have been trained by GRAMMY-winning mix engineer Leslie Brathwaite and are passionate about working with underrepresented and emerging artists, especially BIPOC, 2SLGBTQIA+, gender minorities, low income, immigrant, and disabled artists. CEC volunteers with Good + Plenty Producer's Club by knowledge sharing, grant-writing, event planning, and organizing and holds a Master of Arts in Music & Culture. A participant of national accelerators such as Women in the Studio (2025) and RBCxMusic First Up (2022), CEC’s music is distinguishable by its slow groove, intimate lyrics, and soaring vocal layers, drawing comparisons to Charlotte Day Wilson and Meshell Ndegeocello.

Fun Fact: CEC is a member of the Spanish National Ice Hockey Team!
